What is a tincture?

An herbal tincture is a concentrated liquid extract of one or more herbs made by soaking parts of the herb in alcohol or vinegar for a specific time.

The following is a list of the small changes I made when I first started to research adding healthier alternatives to my life.

Turmeric contains bioactive compounds with medicinal properties. Many high-quality studies show that turmeric has major benefits for your body and brain.

Many of these benefits come from its main active ingredient, curcumin.

Curcumin is acquired from the underground stems of the herb and is widely known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory nutrients can play an important role in combatting inflammation, arthritis, and problems of the stomach, skin, liver, gallbladder, or certain cancers.

I agree.  Turmeric is the #1 thing I suggest for people to try and add first because it is a powerful anti-inflammatory herb, good for joint pain and headaches and has been shown to have qualities that inhibit cancer growth in your body, but i mainly started suggesting it at work, where people often come in hung over. LOL

In my experience - Turmeric will eliminate your hangover symptoms - in about a half hour - so, there's THAT!

A word of Caution - Take with food.

It can be a little hard on your stomach at first -

ESPECIALLY if you are hungover.

It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant. That said, the curcumin content of turmeric is only around 1-6% by weight

Most studies on this herb use turmeric extracts that contain mostly curcumin itself, with dosages usually exceeding 1 gram (g) per day, which means it would be hard to reach these levels just by using turmeric as a spice.

That’s why some people choose to use supplements.

In addition, curcumin is poorly absorbed into your bloodstream. In order to experience the full effects of curcumin, its bioavailability (the rate at which your body absorbs a substance)

needs to improve.

It helps to consume it with black pepper, which contains piperine. Piperine is a natural substance that enhances the absorption of curcumin by 2,000%

In fact, the best curcumin supplements contain piperine, and this makes them substantially more effective.
